Angela Bancroft, Triathlete magazine’s ‘Gatorade Athlete of the Month.’
June 24, 2008Angela Bancroft has been honored as Gatorade Athlete of the Month in the July issue of Triathlete magazine. The monthly column written by Ironman, motivator, writer and nutritionist Marni Rakes celebrates triathletes and the endurance formula that’s so much a part of each one of their lives.
Bancroft, 38 of Paris, Maine, Rakes writes is what every mother wants to be – “ the best for her family.” She also took second in 1:00:01 at this year’s PolarBear Tri/Duathlon and third in the women’s overall at the Mooseman International Triathlon with a time of 2:17:55.
Bancroft has three little boys and a husband who runs his own business, Bancroft’s life revolves around her family.
While other mothers may wonder how Bancroft finds the time to do triathlons, Bancroft says, in fact, it all relates.
“Triathlon gives me balance,” says Bancroft in the article. “ I feel healthy, strong, alert, happy and energetic when I am training for a race. I don’t feel lazy and therefore I can be a better mother.”
The story appears on page 42 of the July issue. Congrats Angela!!
