Remember to sign up for Cape Elizabeth’s CELT Challenge Sprint and Duathlon.
July 24, 2008There are still slots open (100 slots filled, 100 still open) for the Noyes, Hall and Allen CELT Challenge, Cape Elizabeth’s sprint triathlon set for Sunday, September 28. (CELT stands for Cape Elizabeth Land Trust, the organization that benefits from the proceeds of the race.)
The sport of triathlon is still exploding...many race sites and venues are a spectacle to behold: bands playing, large expos, food, more and more stuff to see and do at them. And then there is the CELT challenge.
Although highly competitive up at the front of the pack, this is a really nice and small town-friendly beginner course as well. The swim (425 yards) is in the Cape Elizabeth High School pool, and that means no pushing and shoving in the water, so you don’t have to worry about getting swum over. The 14-mile bike route recently has been repaved, which is a sweet thing, and the run’s x-country is easy on the feet.
There’s also a duathlon which is a 1.5-mile x-country run, a 14-mile bike and three more miles of x-country run.
Don't miss out on this little "spirit of triathlon" race.
