Nearly 200 kids take part in the Clam Festival Classic Kid’s Run.

Eric Wilcox, 11 of New Gloucester, crushed the competition outdistancing his nearest competitor by six seconds in Saturday’s Clam Festival Classic Kids’ Run. He finished in a blistering 5:58. Kirsten Sandreuter won the women’s and a fourth in 6:26.

Nearly 200 kids took part, managing to stay focused in spite of the surrounding carnival atmosphere.

Dillon Beckum, 10 of Caribou, took second in 6:04 and Daniel Baker, 10 of Cumberland Center, grabbed third in 6:17.  Annabelle Elridge, 10 of Yarmouth, also took a second finishing in 6:50, and Molly Walsh, 11 of Yarmouth, placed third in 7:19.

This was not a race divided into age groups.

Elaine Kornbau Howley, 30 of Waltham, MA  and Paul Goudreau, 42 of Boston won the 3.2 mile Rockland Breakwater swim Sunday.
