The 27th Annual Peaks-to-Portland Swim.
July 21, 2008Joe Sheehan of Melrose, Massachusetts and Lauren Trocchio of Cape Elizabeth won the men’s and women’s Peaks to Portland Swim Saturday finishing the 2.4-mile swim in 42:11 and 48:42 respectively. Trocchio was 13th overall in a field of 159 swimmers.
Sponsored by the Greater Portland YMCA, the race starts at Peaks Island and ends at East End Beach with most swimmers accompanied by a kayaker.
