Fontaine and Laroche win Winthrop’s Friends on the 4th 5K.
July 6, 2008Luke Fontaine, 16 of Augusta, won Friday’s Friends on the 4th 5K in Winthrop by less than a second over Danny Soltan, 18 of Winthrop. Fontain finished with a time of 16:16:5. Soltan clocked in at 16:16.7.
Lauren Laroche, 22 of Farmington, won the women’s division in 18:13.
Wade Davis, 17 of Hallowell, took third overall in 16:20. David Weatherbie, 40 of Monmouth, was fourth in 16:37.
Catherine Sterling, 31 of Kents Hill, took second in the women’s in 18:36, and Rosalea Kimball, 36 of Readfield, was third in 19:29.
More than 400 runners competed in the event.
