Yarmouth native and ultra runner Susannah Beck gets a cover.
May 14, 2008Yarmouth native Susannah Beck, who this March set a new course record in the Way Too Cool 50K in Cool, California, appears on the cover of Ultrarunning magazine’s May/June issue.
A graduate of Waynflete School and Yale University, Beck, 39, is currently living in Eugene, Oregon. First-place Beck crushed distance legend Ann Trason’s record of 3:59:32 set in 1993 with a 3:55:22 finish. The second place woman was almost 12 minutes behind her.
It was the third ultra for Beck, 39. She is now training for the Western States 100 which starts on June 28th and ends on the 29th.
Beck was the fourth place finisher in the 2000 Women’s U.S. Olympic Marathon trials with a time of 2:36:46. She is also interviewed in the magazine.
